"But, luckily, he kept his wits and his purple crayon." -- Harold and the Purple Crayon (1955)

Sept. 2012: Forthcoming biography of Crockett Johnson & Ruth Krauss

In September 2012, the University Press of Mississippi will publish my Crockett Johnson and Ruth Krauss: How an Unlikely Couple Found Love, Dodged the FBI, and Transformed Children's Literature. To keep up with further developments, follow my blog posts tagged Biography. Posts tagged Crockett Johnson or Ruth Krauss may also be relevant.

At roughly the same time, Fantagraphics will publish The Complete Barnaby, Vol. 1, which I am co-editing with Eric Reynolds. It's the first of a 5-volume series that will collect all of Barnaby in its original run (1942-1952). I also post about Barnaby on the blog.
