Training rooms and resources

For instructors who want to teach a short-term class within a fully-equipped computer lab, or need laptops for hands-on training purposes, K-State has several options to choose from. Click on the resource listed below for detailed information on equipment and reservations.

Record a classroom session

Tegrity software allows users to create, deliver, and record multimedia from inside or outside their immediate location. Call 532-4918 for reservations and more information.

Computer labs

K-State has many computer labs throughout campus to meet the needs of its growing student and faculty/staff population:

  1. University computing labs for all K-State students, faculty, and staff. Each requires K-Staters to sign in with their eID and password. The labs offer a variety of software.
  2. K-State InfoCommons is located in Hale Library and includes 213 computers for public use.
  3. Departmental labs are reserved for students in specific fields of study. Ask your advisor about available labs or contact the department's main office about usage guidelines.

Technology classrooms (for faculty only)

Technology classrooms are available for use by K-State faculty to enhance the learning experience through multimedia and other IT resources. Classrooms with the common core of equipment are equipped with an LCD projector, or plasma screen display, computer, VCR/DVD player, sound system, document camera, Internet connection, and more. Audio and video conferencing

Several K-State units offer audio and video conferencing services for the university including Kansas Regents Network, Educational Communications Center, K-State Telecommunications, and the Office of Mediated Education. Visit the Audio and Video conferencing page for detailed contact information.

Instructional design services

The Instructional Design team within the Office of Mediated Education provides consultation on areas such as developing mediated courses, appropriate use of technology, and best practices in teaching with technology. Borrow equipment

The Information Technology Assistance Center offers a selection of digital cameras, laptops, and camcorders to K-State faculty, staff, and students for temporary use. Visit the Media Development Center for more information.

K-State Online

K-State Online is the University's course management system. Use it to participate in online components of classroom courses, or to take fully online courses.
