About us
Our goals
1. To provide access to higher education to any student who has the desire.
2. To provide students with the financial means to enable them to complete their chosen program of study.
The K-State difference
Your own Financial Assistance Advisor
To help meet these goals, every student at K-State is given a personal financial assistance advisor. These advisors are available to answer any questions you may have regarding student financial assistance here at K-State – including any questions you might have on how to complete our forms or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). We encourage you to schedule an appointment with your advisor. You can send us an e-mail, give us a call, or, simply stop by our office. Contact us.
Advice from real K-Staters
Along with the services our personal financial assistance advisors provide, our peer advisors are also available Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., to assist with your financial aid needs. Our peer advisors are K-State students who are trained to answer your specific questions regarding your financial assistance.

Code of Conduct
To ensure trust in our administration of financial resources that are available to help students fund their education, we adhere to the following code of conduct:
- We communicate to our students established priority dates, deadlines, and eligibility criteria via our website, email, publications, and presentations.
- We communicate to students the need to complete and submit required documents in a timely manner via email, regular mail, and the University’s student information system (iSIS).
- We require our employees to comply with state and federal laws that prohibit soliciting or accepting gifts or other things of value from entities involved in making, holding, consolidating or processing student loans.
- We encourage all first time student loan borrowers to participate in a “Loan Entrance Counseling” session before receiving the proceeds of a federal student loan.
- We disclose our relationships with lenders.
- We process the majority of our federal student loans directly through the Federal Direct Loan Processor, and as such, we do not recommend a particular private lender to a student for the purpose of obtaining a federal student loan.
- We disclose the criteria used in listing lenders who process private (non federal) educational loans. Our listing of lenders who process private educational loans is not a list of recommended lenders, but rather, it is simply a list of lenders utilized by many students for private educational loans. We encourage students to thoroughly research private educational loans prior to selecting a lender.
- We will, in a timely manner, process loans for all lenders selected by the student and parent borrower.
- We do not allow employees of lending institutions to work in or provide staffing assistance to our offices.
- We offer the maximum federal aid eligibility, and recommend that borrowers explore the benefits of federal financial aid before processing private/alternative loans.
- We provide “exit counseling” to educate borrowers on their rights and responsibilities and provide information to enable them to determine which repayment option best fits their individual financial needs.
- We provide financial aid counseling for students, prospective students, families, and the community.
- We continuously evaluate our services to students and families, striving to provide the highest quality service.
- We comply with the Kansas Attorney General’s Student Loan Code of Conduct.
