September and October
Apply for admission and K-State scholarships before November 1.
November
The Kansas State University scholarship application priority date for incoming freshmen is November 1.
All students should continue to apply for outside funding and scholarships throughout their academic career.
Submit your application to live in the residence halls or submit your application to live in the Jardine Apartments.
December
Get your personal identification number (PIN) to apply for federal assistance online. Your parent(s) need to get a PIN too.
Submit your online contract to the Department of Housing and Dining Services.
January
Parents and students prepare their federal and state tax returns. It is helpful to get your income tax returns prepared early so you can provide accurate information when completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Current students and transfer students should apply for K-State scholarships before February 1.
February
The Kansas State University scholarship application priority date for current students and transfer students is February 1.
All students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The K-State priority date to submit the FAFSA is March 1. Applying by this date may help you be eligible for the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, the Federal Perkins Loan, Federal Work-Study, and other institutional awards.
Incoming students need a verified eID to accept financial assistance in iSIS, K-State’s Student Information System.
March
The K-State priority deadline to submit the FAFSA is March 1. If selected for the federal verification process, you will need to submit your tax forms and supporting documents to the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The verification process usually lasts two to three weeks. You cannot receive federal or state financial assistance until your verification process is complete.
April
Respond within two weeks of notification of your offered financial assistance awards in iSIS, K-State’s Student Information System. Navigate to the Student Center. Under the Finances section, choose “Accept/Decline Awards”.
Submit an electronic funds transfer (EFT) form to the Cashier's Office. This is the most convenient way of receiving your financial assistance credit balance refund.
Incoming students need to register for K-State Orientation and Enrollment.
May
The Kansas Board of Regents Scholarship priority date for submitting the FAFSA is May 1.
If you accepted a Federal Direct Loan, you need to complete a master promissory note.
If you accepted a Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan, your parent(s) needs to apply and be approved for the loan, as well as complete a master promissory note.
If you are a graduate/professional student and you accepted a Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan, you need to apply and be approved for the loan, as well as complete a master promissory note.
If you accepted a Federal Perkins Loan, you can complete your Perkins master promissory note within iSIS, K-State’s Student System.
June
K-State Orientation and Enrollment.
July
Your statement of account (eBill) is available to view in iSIS, K-State’s Student Information System.
August
The financial assistance you accepted from your award notification will be applied to what you owe Kansas State University. If there is any remaining financial assistance, you will receive a credit balance refund the day before the semester begins. If you submitted an EFT form to the Cashier's Office, the credit balance refund will be directly deposited into your bank account two days before the semester begins.
