National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant
The National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant (SMART Grant) represents a form of federal “gift” aid. If you have completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and are a third or fourth year student, K-State’s Office of Student Financial Assistance will verify your eligibility to be awarded this federal, need-based grant. The maximum SMART Grant awarded is $4,000 per academic year.
Student Eligibility Requirements
- You must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen.
- You must be designated a third or fourth-year student.
- You must be eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant.
- You must be enrolled at least half-time (minimum of 6 credits per semester).
- You must maintain a 3.0 cumulative g.p.a. on a 4.0 scale.
- You must be enrolled in an eligible four year, undergraduate degree program.
In reviewing the list of eligible degree programs provided by the U.S. Department of Education, the Office of Student Financial Assistance has identified the following degree programs as eligible at K-State.
